Paralegal of the Year
REAP is proud to announce that this year’s Paralegal of the Year award is given to an exceptional paralegal who has made contributions to the paralegal profession, has shown a commitment to her profession, and an ongoing commitment to the community volunteering.
Ana Rivas is a corporate paralegal with Anderson, Zeigler, Disharoon, Gallagher & Gray and has worked there full-time since April 1, 1997. Ms. Rivas is a current voting member of Redwood Empire Association of Paralegals. Before working with Anderson, Zeigler, she worked with Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley for five years as a corporate and bankruptcy legal secretary. She now specializes in corporate law and in all aspects of creating and maintaining business entities.
Ms. Rivas contributes to her profession by mentoring junior legal assistants and other paralegals in her firm who are not familiar with corporate law. She shares the knowledge she has gained with them so that they can complete assignments entrusted to them. She assists the attorneys she works with by preparing documents, staying on top of deadlines, ma king sure they have all they need before meeting with a client, and keeping things organized. Ms. Rivas’ willingness to assist anyone within her firm who needs assistance, whether it be the receptionist, records manager and/or the attorneys makes her an exceptional role model for all incoming legal assistants and/or paralegals. She believes it is very important to work together as a team and to give in any way that is needed.
