REAP Paralegal of the Year Nominations – Due March 1, 2016!
Dear REAP member,
Every year REAP celebrates someone who has been a great influence and a model for all paralegals as our paralegal of the year. This person then goes into the nominations for the CAPA paralegal of the year who is announced and honored at the June Education Conference. Each of the member organizations puts forth one candidate. The CAPA award carries a stipend of $500 for the paralegal of the year with $300 and $200 going to the first and second runners up respectively.
The REAP board has selected the paralegal of the year for REAP in the past but this year the board decided to solicit nominations from the REAP membership. Please click here find the guidelines for the CAPA/REAP paralegal of the year attached.
The board would like nominations by March 1, 2016. The board will then review the nominations and select a slate of candidates by March 15. This slate will then be sent to REAP members for voting. Votes will be due by April 15. We must submit our paralegal of the year to CAPA by May 1. The exact voting process will follow in another email.
This is a great opportunity to recognize someone who has been a powerful influence in the community, someone who deserves recognition for the time and energy that they put into our profession. Please submit your nominees our email address:
The June Education Conference is June 25 in Riverside at the Riverside Convention Center this year. It is also CAPA’s 40th anniversary and promises to be an exciting and fun filled day with a pub crawl or historical sites visit or a tour of the Mission Inn as optional after conference activities. Additional information is available on the CAPA website www.caparalegal.org. Save the date and plan on coming.
We will soon have the full schedule for the conference but there will be five time slots for MCLE with an ethics course in each time slot as well as MCLE credit for the breakfast and lunch keynote speakers, so a potential total of 7 hours of MCLE!!
